Peter Cao, DMD
Pediatric Dentist

“When we truly make a difference, it’s the kind of story that’s shared at the dinner table.”
As a pediatric dentist, my goal is to guide infants into young adulthood with a lifetime of great oral health. One moment that touched my heart was when a young patient, whom we had seen since birth, started Kindergarten. After his first day, he told his parent he didn’t want to return—because they hadn’t taught anything about teeth! I strive to make every child feel seen, safe, and inspired to care for their smile—so much so that they can’t wait to tell someone about it.
Bio
Dr. Li Feng Cao—known affectionately by his patients as Dr. Peter—has called the Pacific Northwest home for most of his life. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of British Columbia in 2015, where he was recognized with awards in Preventive Dentistry. Early in his clinical training, Dr. Peter’s dedication to working with underserved children inspired him to pursue advanced specialty training in pediatric dentistry.
Dr. Peter made history as the first Canadian applicant accepted into the prestigious Advanced Education in Pediatric Dentistry program at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. His residency emphasized comprehensive care including endodontic treatment of young permanent teeth, tongue- and lip-tie therapy, and early orthodontic intervention. In his final year, Dr. Peter’s outstanding clinical skills and leadership earned him the nomination of Chief Resident, a recognition granted by his Program Director.
Dr. Peter is Board Certified in Pediatric Dentistry in both the United States and Canada, a distinction that reflects his commitment to the highest standard of care. He is an active member of both the American and Canadian dental societies and regularly attends national pediatric dental conferences to stay at the forefront of the latest advances in child-centered care.
Before joining Stellar Kids Dentistry, Dr. Peter provided pediatric dental care across Whidbey Island, the San Juan Islands, and Jefferson County. He was also credentialed at Island Hospital on Fidalgo Island for surgical care under general anesthesia. Dr. Peter especially valued the opportunity to serve military families, understanding and supporting the unique needs they face.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Peter enjoys spending time with his wife and their two young children in Everett, WA. A passionate ocean enthusiast, he maintains a thriving saltwater reef aquarium at home and is a certified Dive Master and Rescue Diver through the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. He and his wife have explored the cold-water reefs of Puget Sound and Burrard Inlet—a hobby they look forward to sharing with their kids as they grow.
